Hammond, Indiana

In 2008, Aleris purchased HT Aluminum Specialties, Inc., a facility in northwest Indiana. The facility houses an aluminum shredding, sizing, and briquetting operation that makes a variety of aluminum products. Each of these products plays an important role in the steel-making process by helping remove excess oxygen and impurities. Customers include steel mills and service centers located throughout the United States and Canada.
