Outer Body Panels
AlMgSi-alloys are recommended for good formability and hemming behavior, improved mechanical paint-curing properties, and corrosion resistance in combination with a perfect surface finish.

Inner body panels
Aleris Europe has developed a concept for inner parts:
- Maximum recyclability concept using AlMgSi-type alloys for outer and inner panels

- Special EN6016 alloy (for easy scrap handling and high scrap value)
Structural Parts
Both AlMg and AlMgSi-alloys are used for structural parts of the Body-In-White (BIW). AlMg-alloys offer an excellent combination of weldability and strength, along with outstanding crash resistance features.
- Special EN5018 alloy (superb resistance against intergranular corrosion)
All BIW materials can be offered in mill finish or EDT and can be passivated with Ti/Zr for maximum durability of adhesive bonds. Subsequently, it can be coated with oil or dry-lube. Various formats (full-width and slit coils, cut-to-shape sheets, etc.) are available.
Extrusions / Profiles
Aleris Europe manufactures a wide range of special extrusions including semi-hard alloy profiles for the automotive industry. With extrusion presses ranging from 20 MN to 90 MN, Aleris supplies rods, bars, and different shapes of profiles to many of the major component suppliers such as Bosch, Continental-Teves, etc. for a variety of applications including:

Finished Mechanical and Structural Parts
Several facilities are equipped with state-of-the-art CNC centers for high-quality machining of finished parts, including specific surface treatment for our global customers.
