Chairman’s Statement – Emergence

We have officially emerged from chapter 11 and completed our reorganization! We begin the next chapter for Aleris well positioned to compete and grow in the global marketplace, with significantly enhanced financial flexibility and strong operational capabilities. Our employees around the world are focused on delivering the highest quality products and services to our customers and meeting and exceeding their expectations. We are excited to be creating a strong, global aluminum company that will benefit all of our stakeholders for years to come.

I want to extend my sincere thanks for the support and confidence of our customers and suppliers over the past months. We look forward to continuing to work with you in a mutually beneficial partnership in the future.

I would also like to recognize the employees at Aleris globally. Through their efforts, we have been able to improve productivity, reduce operating costs globally and quickly respond to changing economic conditions. The fact that we have accomplished so much as a team is a testament to their focus, hard work and dedication.
